Hancock = best dramedy I've seen in a while. I might write a review, but why wait? Watch it! If you're an Arrested Development fan, you'll enjoy seeing Jason Bateman channeling Michael Bluth in his role as Hancock's publicist. Plus the company didn't hurt either. :)
Hancock made me think that humor is a form of euphemism. Ugh I'm not making any sense and I should elaborate. Later perhaps, if that movie review thing comes through.

Random Song Find:
Reason Why Rachael Yamagata
I think about how it might have beenWe'd spend our days travelin'It's not that I don't understand youIt's not that I don't want to be with youBut you only wanted meThe way you wanted meSo, I will head out alone and hope for the bestAnd we can hang our heads down as we skip the goodbyesYou can tell the world what you want them to hearI've got nothing left to lose, my dearSo, I'm up for the little white liesBut you and I know the reason whyI'm gone, and you're still thereI'll buy a magazine searching for your faceFrom coast to coast, or whatever I find my placeI'll track you on the radioAnd I'll sign your list in a different nameBut as close as I get to youIt's not the sameSo, I will head out alone and hope for the bestWe can pat ourselves on the back and say that we triedAnd if one of us makes it bigWe can spill our regretsAnd talk about how the love never diesBut you and I know the reason whyI'm gone, and you're still thereSo, steal the showAnd do your best to cover the tracks that I have leftI wish you well and hope you find whatever you're looking forThe way I might've changed my mindBut you only showed me the doorSo, I will head out alone and hope for the bestWe can pat ourselves on the back and say that we triedAnd if one of us makes it bigWe can spill our regretsAnd talk about how the love never diesBut you and I know the reason why
I'd post the mp3 in my Music section, but you know. Dial-up. Some other time. I love the lyrics. :)
Note: Uploaded Thailand, Day 2 pics at the Photos section. Won't be uploading chronologically because my photos aren't um, really organized yet. Plus I'm fixing 'em up (saturation ♥, whut) and have yet to grab from the multiply accounts of the others. It was one of those things that you plan to do, but don't really think is gonna happen, like meeting John Lloyd graduating or working in the Peace Corps. For me, anyway. Luckily I had Nessa, who wasn't as lazy as I am, and bit by bit The Awesome Thailand-Malaysia Trip came together. We arrived at Bangkok early on May 26, slept and loafed around in their space-age monolith of an airport for 12 hours (an experience in itself ) and met up with our fellow backpackers: After checking into a place near Khao San Road, an extremely touristy section of Bangkok, we mapped out the details of our tour, ate, went to a temple...Anyway, the next day we set out for Damnoen Saduak, the oft-photographed Floating Market. We wanted to go there on our own at first, but eventually opted to go with a guided tour for 300 Baht. This is roughly P600. The thing with tours is, they're incredibly convenient, but they don't allow you to wander off freely and explore the place at your own pace. Ah well. The best thing about Thailand is FOOD TRIPPING. Yeah. The Floating Market was no exception. We got to eat this sweet taco-like snack which had a coconut cream filling of sorts. Then there were the spring rolls cut into bite-size pieces and drizzled with a vinegar-y sauce. There was also black gulaman fresh from the tub sold by an old lady docked near the entrance. At first we just walked along the edges, just taking in the sights and being accosted by the enthusiastic terrestrial Thai vendors. But it is called Floating Market, so clearly we had to go by boat to see everything it had to offer. Our gondolier (Uh boatwoman? Any other feminine term?) was an unsmiling woman in her 40s.The vendors either had boats of their own or had stalls by the water. If you make eye contact for more than 2 seconds, or stare at their wares for too long, they pull your boat towards them or signal to the paddler to stop. Since they deal mostly with tourists, they start with more-expensive-than-usual prices. But we had a Thai person with us to deal with the bargaining, so it wasn't so bad.(And dude, we all look Thai anyway. Even if we weren't, Asians seem to bargain harder and faster than Americans or Europeans. Hehe.)After the tour of the market, we got treated to a motorboat ride on the district's canals. It made me think of Venice (which I must visit before it is completely claimed by the Adriatic --- but Nessa tells me Dutch technology is saving Venice, hurrah).
Then it was an hour's ride back to the bright lights and dreadlocked Westerners of Khao San Road.*More disjointed tales later. It is late, and my eyebags are growing their own little eyebags already.
Pumunta kami sa UPLB ngayon para lang makita ni Kim yung campus. We took the scenic route (sa may Forestry ata) at whoa. Ang gaaaanda ng campus. I'm not much of a nature person, but I loved breathing the UPLB air. :D LB really just a sleepy little town though.
On the way to LB Daddy: Anliit ng toenails ni Kim. Mommy (to Daddy): Namana nya yung paa mo. Me: At least paa lang, hindi yung mukha.
Scorecard: Boss - 0, Pat - 1
Pauwi Me:...yung mga Kenyans kasi, medyo amoy...earthy. Mommy: Ano yun, parang hindi naliligo? Daddy (to me): A parang ikaw?
*Disclaimer: Naliligo ako araw-araw ha. LOLZ. SuperOC kasi ni Daddy sa pagligo, swear. As in for as long as I can remember, laging "Naligo ka na ba?" ang unang tinatanong nyan sakin pagkauwi. At ang pre-pagligo reminders nya lagi ay "Maghilod ka! Patagalin mo yung shampoo sa buhok mo!" XD
Scorecard: Boss - 1, Pat - 1
At Yoshinoya's (our order of gyoza arrives) Me: O eto na yung gyoza. Mommy (corny): Dyosa... ng kagandahan... Me: ...Hinde. Ako yun e. (clearly a joke guys, don't pelt me with tomatoes) Daddy: Baka ng underworld. Hades. *snickers* Me: E maganda kaya si Persephone. Daddy: Hindi ba ikaw si Cerberus?
Scorecard: Boss - 2, Pat - 1
Haha. So namana ko naman pala sa kanya 'to e.
I've been changing my answers to different questions for like 4 times now, but the same result comes up. There may be some truth to this. Haha.| You Are An ENFP | The Inspirer
You love being around people, and you are deeply committed to your friends. You are also unconventional, irreverent, and unimpressed by authority and rules. Incredibly perceptive, you can usually sense if someone has hidden motives. Not quite sure about this. You use lots of colorful language and expressions. You're quite the storyteller!
In love, you are quite the charmer. And you are definitely willing to risk your heart. You often don't follow through with your flirting or professed feelings. And you do break a lot of hearts. Um, no? Haha.
At work, you are driven but not a workaholic. You just always seem to enjoy what you do. You would make an excellent entrepreneur, politician, or journalist.
How you see yourself: compassionate, unselfish (!), and understanding
When other people don't get you, they see you as: gushy, emotional, and unfocused

This really cute song has been playing in my head non-stop these days. And I haven't even watched Juno, where it's part of the soundtrack, yet. :P
(Why song lyrics again? Not too sure either. XP)
Anyone Else But You - The Moldy Peaches
You're a part time lover and a full time friend The monkey on your back is the latest trend I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else But you I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swinging from side to side I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else But you Here is the church and here is the steeple We sure are cute for two ugly people I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else But you The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me So why can't, you forgive me? I was supposed to post a random meme, but this one sounds fun.XD Prease to be commenting? Hehe.
If you read this journal, even if I don't speak to you often, post a memory of me.
It can be ANYTHING you want.
It can be good or bad, just so long as it happened.
Then post this on your journal too!
Reflux. It's getting some major airplay in my head these days. I discovered this when I was in high school and had no concept of emo. :P File in Music section whee. :)
So Impossible - Dashboard Confessional
So she says "Everyone's going to the party, won't you come if I come with a friend for your friend? I'd be so pleased to see you out of the classroom wearing the smile that I'll bring you. I was hoping to learn a few things like.. Do you do you like dishing the dirt on the whole class or talking the big smack or playing the fool or wearing all of the latest fashions or bucking the new trends wearing your old threads or if you like coffee in the evening These are a few things that I'd like to know that I'd like to know" So I say... "I've been scheduled to work but I'll call in and my friend isn't busy he'd be happy to join me and maybe my friend and your friend will hit it off or maybe we will?" I'm dying to know do you do you like dreaming of things so impossible or only the practical or ever the wild or waiting through all your bad bad days just to end them with someone you care about and do you like making out and long drives and brown eyes and guys that just don't quite fit in yeah do you like them So yes, I'll see you there.
From a fortune cookie:
You are blessed because of the people around you. Treat them well.

Now for Blogthing! Which tells me some stuff I don't know or believe. And some I do. Haha.| What Patricia Anne Means |
| You are influential and persuasive. You tend to have a lot of power over people. Generally, you use your powers for good. You excel at solving other people's problems. Occasionally, you do get a little selfish and persuade people to do things that are only in your interest.
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality.
You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.
You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. |
 | Durn. | Dec 26, '07 7:23 AM for everyone |
Just got an email from my Thai friend that she's uh LIVING. IN THE US. NOW. Which means goodbye reunion with Japan Girlz in Thailand.*sigh*
Greeted friends in Japan via email, and a lot replied. Mainly, "When are you gonna come baaaack???" Oh and my good friend Matt is !getting married! June next year, and he's invited me. Not sure if it's in Seattle or Wakayama (where he's working now), but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to go either way. Gotta think positive. Will try and figure this out.
I seriously have to get a job.
*Youtube this and watch hilarity ensue :) [PROMISE!]
Had fun with 03s here at Mama Choring's house (hehe). Stayed well away from the alcohol this time around though. There were bonding games/entertainment (DATING GAME! Jasser and Haidee were the searchers), Maynard had Marvel vs. Capcom on his laptop (Strider Hiryu + Jin r0xxor), the food was great, the DSL connection was crazy fast, Meanne wnet wild driving around the labyrinthine streets of Marikina at 3 am (Haha peace Meanne!XD), explosive secrets were exposed (*winkwink*)...
Needless to say, I will miss most of my batchmates when they graduate.
But first, WHOO! Engg Week! :D
Efren 'Bata' Reyes got eliminated yesterday! *shokku* His age is catching up with him. D: It might've been a good thing I wasn't able to watch the match, I get really noisy (more than usual, I mean :P) and emotionally involved. Hehe.
Currently watching J. Bustamante vs. Wu What's-His-Name [former World Champion]. Bustamante's leading 6 - 4 ohwait 5 already 6! but he had a LOT of unforced errors. He could've widened his lead in the first four racks but argh careless shots. Plus his breaks suck, and he finds ways to make easy shots become more difficult, which usually results in a miss. Hay. The winds of the match are changing. Nooo.
I guess I have to pin my hopes on the remaining 4, especially the other Bustamante (Django).
[The above was blogged a couple of hours ago. Blasted net connection >_>]
Joven Bustamante won! Wow, it was a close fight (10-8). He got lucky Wu wasn't at the top of his game. Pagulayan also won against the Vietnamese dude (he had a srsly cool 'jump' shot tho). Yay. De Luna lost to the same guy who beat Efren Reyes (I forget his name, Konstantin or such o_o).
Right now it's Chao (TPE) vs. Gomez (PHI).
In other news: Still no STS for me. :L
"Hormones. We are helpless in their wake." - Mia Thermopolis *Outing pics to be posted when I get hold of a faster net connection (ie. NOT AT HOME). Pundakit is breathtaking. The night sky was crystal clear, and the scenery was beautiful. So much that even a lethargic non-outdoorsy person like me couldn't help but take multiple pictures, woot woot.
Next up is:
22 - 26 Sem Planning [KEM] 27 - 30 LTS (IN ILOCOS! Hurrah!)
Somewhen I have to squeeze in getting a TIN (I know, I procrastinate), unblocking my ATM card and checking my grades. *sigh*
Being a grown-up can be so boring.
To paraphrase Inhinyero 2005, I feel like I'm careening through my college life like a misfired rubber ball while others are progressing slowly and steadily. Haay.
Done with 3 exams so far, none of them really great. Am finally realizing that almost all my subjects this sem consist of mechanical/procedural problem solving blahblah = SUXXOR = ChE life. Music Lit was great though, we had a mini-concert. I was a bungkaka person. *proud*
Another 3 exams, a lab report, 3 reaction papers, and 3 letters (written output) to go and I'm free! Academically, that is.
THINGS TO DO THIS SEM BREAK**:1. Get cedula and TIN2. Lunch Dinner with Nessa! :)3. Finish i2k8 editing stuff (ASAP! = by next week)4. Correspondence (letter to Akane, package for Toppuu)5. Go to dentist (replace retainers)6. KOS outing? (Please? :D) 7. Manga translations (;_;) 8. Shop. For clothes. (I hope.) 9. SLEEEP 10 hours a day. :D Hmm. CRS. *crosses fingers*
**Does not include: Outing, Planning Sem, LTS
Slipped and fell on my butt right at the main entrance of Robinson's Metro East as I was about to ride a jeep bound for home. How embarrassing. And painful. My left wrist's still hurting, as it absorbed part of the shock as I buckled to the ground. XP
At least we have a fully-functional PC at home now. Whee.
Right now I'm watching Kyle XY's pilot on Studio 23. So far it's very interesting, it's got a promising premise and some really funny lines. (Something to keep me occupied till Prison Break Season 3? Haha.)
Kyle is found naked in a forest outside Seattle. He has no memory of anything up until that point. The authorities send him to an institution, a kind of children's home, because they didn't know what to do with him. A psychologist takes an interest in his case, sees he doesn't belong there, and takes him home with him. He really knows nothing, so he has a childlike fascination with EVERYTHING and we follow his process of socialization and learning as he lives with the family. Oh, and he has no belly button. Huh. Plus he's a genius, finishing a 1-hour IQ test in 5 minutes.
(Theory: Kyle is a clone/humanoid of some sort?)
This show is totally going to be on pirated DVDs really soon. :) Apparently it's one of ABC's highest-rated shows, so yeah. My dad said the actor who plays Kyle was their 2nd choice for Clark in Smallville. He has pretty lashes. :P
 | Rain D: | Aug 8, '07 5:42 AM for everyone |
Went home last night soaking wet and not entirely satisfied with my exam (don't ask). I really just wanted to sleep, or translate non-smutty manga, but. We had to powwow for 124 since we didn't have a coherent draft to present today. Or at least we thought it was going to be today, but the rain did us all a favor. :DNearly a week into KEM Month, and we're still all alive. Go go go!
Future Father of My Children (Say it with me: Patricia Miller :P) Marathon-ed Prison Break Seasons 1 and 2. I plan to write a review (later, after I'm done with the whole tarp thing), that's how much I liked it. What struck me, apart from how intense Wentworth Miller's gaze is, is the similarities of his character to Kenshin. Haha. Definitely one of the better TV shows out there. I can't wait for Season 3! Yesss. Oh, and useless info: Apparently (from the last ep of Season 2), it's Panamanian, not Panaman. In any case, I can only end with this: "YOU'LL BURN IN ACADEMIC HELL FOR WHILING AWAY YOUR WEEKEND WITH ME!"
Why:
1. 7.7.07
2. It's Tanabata. Make a wish and hang it on a tree~ Mine is like Ryo-chan's: 愛が欲しい。愛が欲しい。愛が欲しい。ie, I want love. Three times. LOL. XD
3. Wala lang. Nothing really big, but three 7's is always a good thing (if life was one big slot machine). :D
